Introducing Our Story Notes Blog

Hi, we are really excited about setting up this blog. With the help of our mum, we are going to use it to keep a record of all the interesting stories, ideas and events that come our way, and we mean all kinds!

Why are we going to blog about stories?

Well, firstly we're really interested in the idea of a diary. A girl called Aoife, who we met last year while on holiday in Ireland, told us that she kept a diary. We weren't sure what a diary was, but when we found out it was a little book where you can write down your thoughts, ideas and wishes for the future, we were really keen to try our a diary of some kind for ourselves.

To tell you the truth, we'd forgotten about the dairy idea, up until this week. Mum's been keeping something called a blog with her students, and she says it is an electronic diary that you can keep posting new ideas to. Rather than paper, you write your ideas onto the screen in the form of a blog post. You can add photos and even video too, and when you are ready to share your thoughts, you can press 'publish' and hey presto, your post will appear online, so anyone including your cousins, nannies ,grandad, Pop and even Grandma Daisy can read them! Wow.

Mum told us a blog could be about anything, and showed us some examples. Here are some of our favourites:

So we set about wondering what kinds of ideas we'd like to share with our friends and family, some of whom we don't see all that often, and that's where our 'story blog' idea came from!

On top of this, an online diary seemed like a good idea as we are keen to learn more about what else you can do on computers besides going online to bid for things on Ebay (a miniature red Ford Galaxy was the best thing Fiachra won), watching short clips and extracts on YouTube, and typing words into Google to search for images (buses, trucks, and fire engines are some of our favourites!)

Mum has explained to us that we can all add posts to the blog- it is going to be a shared family blog, so dad will be able to post from his own computer too! We love hearing people read to us from books, making stories up as we go along, and helping our mum and dad create the next episode in our Impy and Taxi saga, which we guess you don't know much about yet (but you will)!

So, we'll look forward to posting soon. I wonder what story snippet will come our way? We'll just have to wait and see.
